Why the Water You Drink May Be Affecting Your Health
10 de enero de 2025
Every day we make decisions about what we eat, but we rarely think about the water we drink. Yet water is the most important element for our bodies — it makes up 60–70% of our composition and participates in absolutely every vital process.
Water's journey before reaching your glass
Tap water travels a long road: from its natural source, through treatment plants where chlorine and other substances are added to make it 'safe,' then through miles of pipes that in many cities are decades old, accumulating sediment, rust, and bacteria. By the time it reaches your glass, it's very different from the water that left its source.
The main contaminants in municipal water
Independent studies have detected in municipal water across California and Texas: free chlorine and chloramines, artificially added fluoride, traces of medications and hormones, heavy metals like lead and copper (especially in older homes), agricultural nitrates, and microplastics. None of these is 'toxic' in trace doses, but daily, cumulative exposure over years does impact the hormonal system, kidney function, and gut microbiome.
What can you do?
The first step is knowing the quality of water in your home. A free water evaluation lets you know exactly what your water contains and what type of filtration is best for your family. The solution must be personalized — it's not the same for a home with well water versus municipal water, or a family with young children versus adults.
At AlkaliNation USA we do that evaluation at no cost and no obligation. We believe every family deserves to know what they're drinking.
